Missing your Catalytic Converter

Post by nate06 »

I saw this and thought it was interesting. Apparently people are stealing catalytic converters and then selling them for the precious metal inside.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23117250

Certain ones are much more valuable than others. I have a mechanic friend who sometimes buys used cars in rough shape just to sell the converters, aluminum wheels and other valuable scrap metal. He makes a lot of money from it.
