It is about a guy that has a going away party and spends the rest of the movie searching for his girlfriend, lol. It is not enough for me to go see it in a theater. It was so overhyped that many people have been like, "Meh, it was OK!"

They talked about this movie on Rover's morning glory (radio) if any of you get that where you live....they talked about how you never get to see much of the monster [kind of like the whole thing with "lost" the tv show--and never getting to see what it is that is killing people] and that it had an abrupt end. I haven't seen it but to me it kind of sounds like 28 days and 28 weeks later

I haven't seen it but to me it kind of sounds like 28 days and 28 weeks later actually you see more of the monster than you think. its actually a great movie, very suspenceful, but there is one character you'll love or hate, his name is HUD and he is the camera guy throughout the whole movie.heres a little review about the movie: http://forums.unfiction.com/fo...23648
I'm sry to say it but I hated the movie, it there a lot of yelling, the camera going every where you didn't know where the thing came from what the heck it is.... it was like the blair witch project meets godzilla BORING! then there so much movie I started to get sick I gave this thing a 3 out of 10 it had its funny moments but that's about it

JJ said he wants this to be a monster that americans can get behind, kinda like the japanese and godzilla. the only issue, it was a bit too shaky with the camera.and i feel real real sorry for the CG animators. with all that camera movement and then having to create a destroyed cityscape/monster and track them both. wow.
ok one thing i need to let you guys know and it might be a spoiler i dont know. at the end of the movie you see the two characters Rob and Beth in the ferris wheel and the camera is looking out towards the sea. there is a cruise ship out over to the far right of the screen, if you watch that side for a bit you'll notice something hitting the water.
Not a spoiler but my buddy told me about it when we went to the movie, good piece of advice cause it explains a lot.Frigin AWESOME movie. I almost might go see it again. I gotta say for a monster movie it did have it's fairly scary parts. The whole premise was to put you in the middle of everything and you really felt that way the whole time. There were times I was like, yeah right F' that. Cause there was no way I would do what they did. Carzy movie, go see it!

I saw it this morning. I liked the movie except for one thing .. the camera movement. Like SuperSpeedWagon I damn near got sick. I had to close my eyes and breathe deeply to keep from hurling. on several 3D sites I go to, people that saw it said the same things, some people felt ill, some weren't affected others heard people saying they hated the movie .. etc.the monster is well done, but at times it seems its size changes or at least the perspective does... from when it is beside skyscrapers toward the end of the moviesorry for this bit, but the destruction of NY buildings was really good FX. One of them looked like the same effect that happened when the twin towers came down... the way the blowing dust looked, papers everywhere and such hence some of the claims of 9/11 statement.oh, at the end of the movie credits you hear "It is still alive"

Go to the 1-18-08.com sight, all these new pics of them fighting something in the water and then a all blast or chewed up dead something on the beach. Weird. Maybe pointing to a sequel or something!Oh and read up on the object falling in the water. As Abrams claims it is a deep sea monster, but that thing falling is the Tagruato Satellite that awakens the monster.

Just a little note about the 1-18-08 site (www.1-18-08.com):You can flip the pictures over by first bringing a picture to the top of the heap, then quickly moving the mouse in a circular motion while doing a click-n-drag. Some of the early pics have writing on the back; one of them (the Chinese chef) has Mandarin...can't read it myself!
I saw it last Friday. Really enjoyed it. Have you guys seen that some theaters are now posting warnings that watching Cloverfield can induce motion sickness?

I like the premise of the movie. I think it was SSW that stated they didn't like it because they never explained what it was or anything. That aspect I actually liked. It is a third person movie, you are there with them, if they don't know what it is why should you. Hell, the military didn't even know what it was, they just needed to kill it. The ending wasn't abrupt. If you want to see an abrupt ending watch No Country for Old Men. I am just glad it wasn't another cookie cutter Godzilla remake. Kudos to Abrams, Goddard and Reeves for not boring the pants off me. The key to not getting sick is to sit in the back of he theater. Worked like a charm for me.
