LOL!!! I was just coming here to post it! Great minds think alike! FWIW, here is my link too...http://www.clickondetroit.com/....htmlI want one! Glad it was NOT called the SS. That was totally wrong! A Corvette has never had an SS before or after it.

Someone from GM a while back said that all Corvette's are "Super Sport", it might have been Zora actually, but I'm not sure.Yeah, I'm glad it's not called the SS or the Blue Devil. ZR1 fits it just fine. I really want to buy one, but I'm about $100,000 short!

The closest I knew of without looking my my books of course was the Grand Sport. I cannot wait to see one of these ZR1's now!

Well...I think I should clarify...I wish I could find the exact quote, but whoever said it was saying that having the SS moniker on any car means it's a performance car, and since ALL Corvettes are performance cars, labeling a Corvette with an SS would be redundant. Meaning that all Corvettes are performance cars, not that they actually have the SS label attached to them. Hope that makes sense...

An interesting tidbit about the LT5 (DOHC) engine in the early '90's ZR1 'Vette, is that it was built/assembled by Mercury Marine in Stillwater, OK.

Hell if the Z06 can already take out a Gallardo, I cannot wait to see a GT3 or the 599 or even the Murcielago against this. What an article that will be when MT does a comparo.

Sure, but you have to give us a turn behind the wheel.
