I'm finding that the scheduled maintenence items/intervals do not match with the owners manual. For exmaple in the online version tire rotation is every 10K miles - in the owners manual it is 5K miles.Oil change is listed as 3K/3months - owners manual says 5K/3 months.Anyone else noticed this.
I have not been using the GMlink since the dealership here does do service calls out one week before the car is due for an oil change or a rotation based on time.I know that the service for the cars is suppose to be 3000 miles (5000 km) or 3 months which ever is first for regular driving. For long trip highway isn't it suppose to be 5000 miles (8000 km) or 3 months?
If God didn’t want us to eat meat, why did he make the cow so slow? (Ever eaten a cheetah-burger? Nope. And you never will.)
My owners manual does not have a separate regular/highway schedules as I've come across with other cars. The MyGMLink does have that and I selected regular so that could be the reason for the descrepancy. But why is there only one schedule in the OM. Maybe a printing mistake?Still don't understand the difference in tire rotation schedule. I've crossed 5K so I rotated the tires then and also did the oil change at 3K. I may contact GM for an answer to this question.
The online GMMyLink service assumes (Incorrectly) that everyone has GM's wonderful (yes, that was sarcasm) Oil Life System. 10K is the max with the OLS, which is a load of crap in my mind. 10K is about twice as long as you should go on the same oil, and you miss getting your tires rotated (every 5K~7.5K according to all the major tire makers)The only reason GM has the OLS, and the long life coolant, and the 100K plugs is to make their vehicles APPEAR to be cheaper to operate. I say appear, because if you do the real maintance your car deserves, you'll do about twice as much as GM requires. You'll also have a car that runs a lot longer and a lot better.Back on topic, I tried to use the MyGMLink on my 1st Vibe, and had a near impossible time getting it to recogize the VIN, had to call it in, and everytime they finally contacted me for service I had already done it, so I didn't bother on Vibe #2.

Dealer says it is Dexcool - a 5 year change.

Next, our cars shouldn't have dexcool in them, they should have Toyota's red antifreeze in them. The engine block and such are all Toyota, the radiator MIGHT be made by GM, via ACDelco, but I'd rather have the correct AF in mine...on this one, the manual is right - 30K or 2yr interval.

My manual says 150K/5 yrs but it is an 07 so I'm not sure if they changed the manual for 07. I suppose I should look at the Matrix service manual. I wonder if they have a copy over at MO.
If you have the pink Toyota long life coolant from the factory. Then 5 year max. or by Mileage...play it safe at 60k. I have been using the Peak Global lifetime "coolant" in my other vehicles. It's Yellow. They really push that it's better than anything else out there.
