Window tinting on rear window

Post by KrazyB »

Does any one know if by tinting the rear window and using the rear defroster if that can make bubbles in the tint? I have heard mixed things and just wanted to know what others have noticed. Thanks

I was told by my tint guy not to use the defroster... but my brother used the defroster on his truck with out anything happening.

Mine hasn't in the past 2-1/2 years using my rear defroster dozens of times. If you get a good quality tint that is properly installed with lifetime warranty you will never have to worry about it.

+10,000 BC. As long as the tint isn't crap there should be no problems with using it. On the last two cars, I've had good quality tint and have used the defroster practically every day with absolutely no problems. The cars I've had with crappy tint didn't give me any problems that could be attributed to the defroster either, the material just faded but it did that on all the windows.According to my tint guy, the only time you are to not use the defrost is for a couple days after the tint install because there is still moisture between the tint and glass at that time.

I recently got mine tinted, and asked this very same question... as stated above, as long as its a good quality tiint, and installed correctly, the rear defrost will not affect the tint. If it does, then either you had a cheap job done on your ride, or a cheap quality tint.
