damn! give us time to reply!!!!!!my buddy had one. it wasn't bad cleaning. but instead of him being able to do something else, he'd just stand there and watch it clean. are you gonna put a TRD cai on it? might clean faster!!!!

If you still need a regular good vacuum, get a Dyson. I wouldn't recommend anything else.

I still don't think it's worth the money. Hence me and my fiance registered for the Ferrari of vacuums. The Dyson!

Dyson is the best. Too bad they cost Eleventy Billion Dollars. I would want the Animal Hair Model which costs $500. No thanks. I'll stick with my $50 Dirt Devil Vacuum that is now 8 years old and still works like a champ.

My mother in law has one, and it picks up a lot of dog hair around their house, but it would be useless in a car.

However if you're just using it for your room, it should be fine. My fiancee and I have a Roomba. Woot has one today (11/14) for $99 with the scheduler (it is a refurb though). We like it ok. They aren't really designed to deal with the quantities of dog hair we tend to have - or the type. It's mostly the long hair from our pomeranian mix that gets stuck in the axles and then end up causing the guide wheel to drag. That kills the battery life.Speaking of batteries, they don't last as long (lifetime wise) as I'd like given that we got maybe 18 charges before it needed to be replaced. Rumor has it the newer batteries last longer. If I had it all over to do again, I'd still have to let the (future) wife decide...

hahha i was totally kidding about the car cleaning. My townhome is mostly short carpet, no pet yet, but we will be fostering a cat for like 5-6 months soon. I just thought it would be nice to have a slightly cleaner floor as when i mod things i get little crap on the floor, so it would be perfect.I like hardware hacking so the battery thing will be a no issue and yes i did get it off woot

Don't the new ones have an auto return feature where when the battery is low it goes back to the charger on its own.

I had one....it was "okay"....didn't save me a lot of time or do a better job than a cheap Hoover....I had it replaced once after it broke....the 2nd time it broke I threw it away.....it was a cool toy and depending on your room configuations and house size it might be more worthwhile....I'm sure they also continue to improve them so hopefully yours won't be so prone to problems......good luck with it.

I was thinking about getting one. Just wondering how good they are at cleaning. Moving into a 3 story, so I really dont want to carry a vacumm up all the stairs.

the friends I have that have one say, its a good "daily cleaner" does a good job, but if you want it ultra clean nothing beats the real vacuum. they have 3 cats and their living room with just a roomba is always clean...works for me wake up, push button, leave for work, get home to a clean floor

I just read a post on another foum about one and the "dog" didn't like it very much, SO much so, it decided to plop a BIG stinky RIGHT in front if it... Well the Romba though "oh, a BIG mess for me to clean up" and went round and round on it.... Yeah, the guy tossed it... he said trying to clean it was completely out of the question... BEWARE.... lol
