Question about Odor removal

As a Car Prep for a Rental Company I see a lot of things that happen to vehicles that I get to clean up after....I have recently come across a vehicle that seems to have had a small gasoline leak into the trunk. That that the car leaked but something containing gas was put into the trunk. It has a gas odor in the trunk. I was curious as to what would be the best way to remove the gasoline odor from the trunk so that it does not return?Thanks.

Fabreeze or baking soda might do the trick... and letting it air out.

Gasoline is one of the toughest to clear out.Really the best remedy is an odor absorber. You can try running to HD and getting those bags of lava rocks that clean up odor, some Odor Eliminator spray. And time. Whenever your around, leave the car with all windows down, doors open, etc. so that it airs out. That is really the best to do. After that, then you can get to work cleaning the carpeting and really getting in there with some Resolver or Power Out.

When you are concerned with fumes and odors in general, you need a carbon filter. I have seen some around but not sure where. For this, you'd just place them in the trunk and try to leave it still for a day or two...activated carbon may be more reactive (activated with a halogen salt of some sort), but may not be worth it in this instance.

i get those bags of rocks from bed bath and beyond...they do the trick everytime!
