The 200 watt amp is under the driver's seat and not built into the head unit.quote:do both the vibe and matrix have the same hu??Yep. The one in the auction is identical to the one I have in my Vibe.
quote:Do you like the 6 CD Changer or no? Give me an idea. I have been watching that auction just like Bell.It works just like it should. No problems. If you are looking to stick to stock equipment and want more of a CD capacity, then that is the way to go.
This is a simple install. When I bought my Vibe I wanted the 6-disc changer but not the moon-and-tunes package. The only Vibe they could find with all my other requirements (satellite 2-tone, auto, power, base wheels) had a single disc player. The dealer say they would install a factory 6-disc in it for me if that's what I wanted. One week after I picked up the car the dealer had a 6-disc changer shipped to them and installed it. It took about 1/2 an hour.
I was under the impression that the radio was coded to the car that it came with. That is why there is a communication line to the computer from the HU. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts?Yeah, but I believe this has to be activated in the computer to work initially. I know my theftlock is not activated on my head unit (no red flashing light which I assume is the indicator) so I should be able to put mine in any Vibe/Matrix without problems. I would maybe e-mail the seller of this particular auction and see if he is aware if his/hers was activated or not.It seems that not all head units in the Vibe/Matrix are activated.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... id=452Also, I don't see a problem with a dealer unlocking the radio anyways? I would see where they may give you a hard time at some dealers though.
silverawd26, are you gong to bid? if you are, I will stay away. the auction ends on saturday.

Any thoughts?I appears that the theft feature is not turned on. Basically, if you set the theft code, it will only work on the vehicle it was in at the time the code was set. If you place it in another vehicle, you will have to enter the code to unlock it. The code as I remember is 4 digits long. This was how it worked in another GM vehicle I owned and when I sold the radio, we went through that routine.
