Hardwiring underlights in a 2005 vibe

Post by vash866 »

So i went out to pep-boys and got some "ok" underglows for my 2005 vibe and began to think about hardwiring them to the fuse box in one of the spare spaces. Which plugging it into a spare fuse area shouldn't be too difficult of a problem but my main concern is try to go the wire from the inside of the car to under the hood to the fuse box. anybody have any ideas?

Welcome, first post eh, most at least introduce themselves first... but that's ok... Just run the wire, keeping away from moving/hot parts up and into the engine bay.and wire tie it along the way.. The power switch can be fished through one of the exisiting gromets in the firewall to the cabin. If I were you, i would wire up a stand alone fuse holder and keep out of the fuse box.. If something goes wrong, you don't have to interfear with any factory things.. What kind of amprage draw does it list?

When I wired in my auto dimming mirror, I ran the wires through the grommet that the hood release cable passes through. There was plenty of room for 4 wires and it does not affect opening the hood at all.

I'd just go thru the door jam and duct tape it . I think your best bet will be to do as Sublimewind says and: Quote »Just run the wire, keeping away from moving/hot parts up and into the engine bay.and wire tie it along the way..
