Well, I finally got around to doing the allignment on my GT with the GC coil overs... I had to put the stock wheels back on because the dealership here in po-dunk NM wasn't able to hook the machine to the 18's. I have the front about 1 inch from the bottom of the adjustment sleeve and the rear is a little past mid way. They didn't have the specs in their computer yet so they entered my car as a Montana (!!) and downloaded the specs for the Vibe. Here is what they found: Start Spec Service Prefered FinishCaster (FL) 4.1 -2.03 to +3.53 +2.78 4.1Caster (FR) 3.6 +2.03 to +3.53 +2.78 3.6Camber (FL) ?? -1.32 to + .18 -.57 -.06Camber (FR) ?? -1.32 to + .18 -.57 -.05Toe -.30 -.02 to + .02 0.0 .00Camber (RL) ??? -1.95 to -.95 -1.45 -1.3Camber (RR) ??? -1.95 to -.95 -1.45 -1.2Toe +.90 0.0 to +.52 +.26 +.25The tech told me there wasn't too much caster in the front, but for the rear he said he had one heck of a time, as he had to remove the hub and add shimms in order to make it right! The specs state that rear camber and to are non-adjustable but the guy said he "knew how" and adjusted it. Over all, the car rides a lot smother and the rear wheels look so much better in the wells now! Just wanted to let you folks know, an allignment is definately needed after dropping your car with coild overs!!!!
exact amout? I have no earthly clue. If I were to guestimate, I would sat around 3 - 3.5 inches. I measured from the ground to the bottom of the cladding and came up with 6 inches off the ground, I guess you could do the same with the stock ride height and subtract the differens,
3-3.5 inches it is a lot. Did you need a camber kit or if the mechanic was able to adjute without this part?I'm looking to drop mine of about 2" and I was wondring if I'll need a camber kit.
I didn't use a camber kit, the tech said he could adjust the front just fine but on the back he removed the hub on each side and added "shimms" to adjust it as according to the tech papers there is no adjustment available. I am not sure if that is good or bad but a buddy of mine who used to work at a wheel and tire company said it is standard proceedure.
Perfect!!! 1 thing less to buy.I'm looking to an adjustable suspension, to drop my Vibe in summer and put it higher during winter. Will you recomand this lind of stuff or it is better to get a non-adjustable suspension?
This would be my first set of coil overs ever. Before I went for just lowering springs, but I REALLY like the ability to adjust them to the perfect height. Never again will I buy set rate srpings.

[/QUOTE]They haven't had their allignment CPU updated out here (NM is about 20 years behind current anything) so he just randomly chose a car to get the machine to work, I assure you the Montana is no where near the same specs as the VIbe. The specs he used were for the Vibe. I got a compy of the spec list he used for the Vibe, and the results. The Old is before the allignment and the new is after the allignment. When I typed the whole thing up everything was lined up an purty but when I hit post it somehow removed all of the extra spaces!
