Important Airbag Information ( GOOD NEWS)

Post by viberator80 »

Airbag information:Matrix/Vibe airbag module made by TRW automotive.occupant safety systems are the single most reliable system in your car. We are talking about saving a persons life here. The harnessing for your airbag module, satelite crash sensors, squibs ( yeah explosives), and all other airbag related devices is completely independent of the radio system. Failures lead to LAWSUITS and how the hell would a company explain that the radio wasn't working so the airbags didn't deploy.... RIIIIGHT...

Sounds right to me. That an air bag system would fail if you upgraded your stereo is absurd. It was brought up here on this board several times, and this is the first reply to correct us. Thank you. I know that all air bag related wiring harness are yellow, so people know not to mess with them.

Finally you have clear answer. As most of us thought, and it is the most rasonnable answer, the air bag system and the stock head unit has not link together.Happy to hear it, as I changed my HU and I don't want to put back the stock HU.BTW, is your source are trustfull?

maybe i missed it, but my question is, who do i beleive?? 1 person says the HU is needed for airbags, another says it isnt. i think i may just keep my original HU, even though i'd like a new one. better safe than sorry.
