We pronounced it foo-ket when we went there twice on deployment. It was a very beautiful place before the tsunami, not sure about afterwards. One of the island there is where they filmed the movie The Beach, another is where the filmed an old James Bond movie. I always wanted to go back there, but not sure how things are now after the tsunami hit there big time. They had beauiful floating cities, lots of awesome architecture and sculptures, and great seafood.
