Over the weekend I got into the car on the passenger side since my wife was driving. The vents were directed to blow air right into my face, but since I have contact lenses I can't have that. I closed both vents and next thing I hear is popping noise from the dash. Sounds like the flaps (or whatever you call them) that redirect air are flopping around. The noise reminds me of plastic gears that a stripped and are skipping. The noise goes away when the recirc button is pressed. This is driving me nuts. Also, I know there is a TSB for the cigarette lighter pulling out of the dash. What is the fix though? Do I just need to buy a new cig lighter? Thanks in advance

What about the 12V socket? I did a search, but got nothing.Edit: Ordered the actuator. Hopefully I'll have it this week so I can replace it on saturday. From the other thread I noticed that at the same time I can eliminate noises that have been annoying me for a while.
