I would let the dealer take a look at it. They should be able to stop it if it is not normal. Even if you find where the noise is coming from, the car would probably be running and the exhaust would be very hot and difficult to work on. It's not worth the risk of burning yourself trying to fix it.

Nope, that is not normal. My factory one never vibrated, nor does the Thermal R&D one. Take it back and have them fix it.

Love it! Just the sound I wanted. One thing, I cant remember if, when you rev it up (Driving it or just pressing the gas) and then take your foot off the gas and slow down, does the little pops from the exhaust mean that there IS back pressure or that there isnt any? I like the sound of the pops. Reminds me of a V8. LoL Anyone?

That sounds like it would be awesome to hear. That is the kind of sound I would like out of my Vibe in the future.

I am serious. I think that is one of the coolest sounds, the popping. As long as it isn't backfire! (Just kidding.)

I like the popping sounds too. I believe that it means that there IS backpressure. My stock GT exhaust does not pop . My mustang used to pop if you revved it in neutral and let the rpm's drop. Made really cool sounds for a V6.

Cool. When I first put the exhaust on, it was only noticable every so often. Now that it's been on a couple months, the popping is more noticable. I mean, it's not a lot, just certain times it likes to pop when slowing down or like you saidm when ya rev it up and let the rpms drop. And no, it isnt backfire. LoL The exhaust note gets the Vibe noticed. Probably wondering why it's coming from a Vibe. And you want to hear popping from a V6? You should hear my GA with dual flow 40's on it. LoL Sweeeeet.

I finally had my vibe checked at another dealer and the diagnosis isthat its the fuel pump - "chareteristic of the vehicle".The diagnosis was made by the service advisor and not the mechanic.Does vibe have a noisey fule pump (I can hear it clearly when I idlebut not when I drive).

has this problem been clearly identified or solved by a dealership? I have a 2004 Vibe AWD I took to the dealer today with this problem.. However, it is intermittent, not constant.. usually happens when Im at a drivethrough or at a stop light.. very embarrassing! The dealership I took it to said they have never come across this problem...Of course, as I pulled it in, it was quiet as a mouse..

I know what it might be. When i had my straight pipes, 1 of the hangers wasnt on. theres a little metal bar that goes across the esxhaust system ebhind the resonator i guess in case a anger comes out to keep it from falling. If your able too, jack it up and look under to make sure all the hangers are connected.

I was thinking catalytic converter heat shield. That is not uncommon as they start to loosen as the shield begins to corrode. It is possible the heat shield could have been a little loose from the factory too. It happens.

i have a rattle noise as well up towards the front underneeath. it happens at low rpms and is very annoying, sounds like maybe the heat shield or something... let me know if you find anything else out, or IM would even be better.

Could be the short ram...Not sure how long your short ram is, but my CAI pipe hits against the left strut tower anytime I accelerate hard and the engine block tilts backward in response...
