2007 Impala

Post by cs1992 »

When my Vibe was in the shop to get a new PCM, the dealer lent me a new Chevrolet Impala for a day. Not having owned/driven a newer GM car for some time, I was thoroughly impressed. The fit and finish was every bit as good as my neighbor's '07 Camry (as well as my '06 Vibe). Driving it was just as impressive. Acceleration and shifting was smooth and the ride extremely comfortable. Although I only drove this car one day,it has caused me to think twice about the quality/perception of domestic vehicles. (Especially after the PCM problem with my Vive at 12k miles.)Now, if they could only make something as fuel efficient as the Vbe.

Of course, domestics are getting better, look at what they are competing aginst these days... American car companies are having to work harder and harder to keep thier respective heads above water.... Do you happen to remember that 80's movie (90's maybe) where it was about the american and asian car companies TRYING to work together... it was a GREAT depiction of the difference between how asian manufactures and american manufactures differe in practice.... WE ARE LAZY...peroid...It's nice to hear that you found one that was well build, i must say i rented a dodge caravan for a week a few months ago and it was NICE, V6, good on gas, fit and finish was nice, it's only had 1500mi on it when i got it, but, it seemed really solid... Now that Dodge has changed hands again, i'm seeing good things in the future... I mean Damler did good things, but, this other company has potential to, as long as they don't drive it into the ground...

Great movie, seen it many times, have it on DVD.That one last scene where Micahel Keaton's character goes to drive off in one of the cars they rushed to build and it falls apart reminds me of my Vibe.
