Hello all,I need to replace the center brake light on my 2003 Vibe. I looked in the manual and it says to "remove the clips" that hold on the plastic cover over the light bracket. The problem is that is seems that "remove" actually translates into brake the clips. They are plastic rivets that don't seem like they are meant to be removed. So, do I brake them and buy replacement ones or are they supposed to come out easier than that? And I guess the dealer would have the replacements? Thanks.
If I remember right, they look like rivets, but they are made up of two parts, inner and outer. You should be able to take something thin, like the edge of knife, and pry up the center piece, it will pull out a little bit from the outer base piece. This will let the legs of the outer base piece close up a bit, and clear the hole. I can visualize it, but am having a hard time describing it. There has to be a picture of one around here somewere ...and welcome to genvibeedit, here is a picture, not of the rear brake light, but of the air intake between the hood and the windshield, but in it, on the left side, there is a red box around a close up of the same kind of clip, shows the two pieceshttp://forums.genvibe.com/zerofile/4149/airin.jpg
