Headlights ---and the dealership

Post by Big_Red »

So, my passenger side headlight is getting some moisture...haven't really taken the time to take it apart and see where the leak is but I do know that it isn't filling with water....which is a good thing. Called the dealership to see how much it would cost to get a new one.$421.50.....each!!!!! (removed)? I couldn't believe that....so, needless to say, I'm finding one somewhere else other than a dealership.

That's in canidan, so it's really like 42.15 here in Emerica.... lolI kid, I kid....... WoW, that hurts to think about it..... Pull it out, take the bulbs out, bake in the oven on the lowest setting possible till dry, and seal with silicone, replace... almost free...

while i know there are probably a million junk yards around, i would try the one that's north of steeles on 5th or 6th line just north of Milton (drive up 6th and if you don't see it by 5 Side Road, then turn left to get to 5th line and drive south and it'll be there). They seem to have quite a selection and my friend mentioned that there were some vibes in their 'lot' not too long ago.
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!

Get a heat gun and peel them apart. Clean out the old glue and redo with some clear RTV silicone. Total cost $6, make it $30 if you have to buy a heat gun.
