Touch up paint

Post by Scootman! »

I have checked out other threads on this, but there is not one conclusion on a reputable website to order from. I have an '04 Satellite and I can't really get to a dealer since the closest one is about 30 min. away.

I know your probably looking for "genuine" GM paints, but I've always had pretty good luck with Duplicolor touch-up paints. In the past, I've use both GM and Duplicolor paints for various cars I've owned and have noticed no real difference in matching... as long as I actually purchased the correct color. They have a list of distributors here: http://www.duplicolor.com/solu....html

I don't remember ever having that problem... but I think I've only ever used two cans of their spray (I did some body work on my old car last summer)... maybe I just got lucky. I mostly just used the little .5oz touch-up tubes with reasonable success.I did notice that some private seller on Amazon.com has GM touch-up paints, but when I looked up my Vibe ("GM Part 12346711") the .5oz tube was $9.39 and the shipping was $10.50! I've never had any significant problems when ordering things from private sellers on Amazon... but that shipping cost just seems ridiculously excessive.
