Anyone ever get a P1600 code? I did a search and noticed one thread on this concerning the Unichip harness. My CEL has been off and on for about 2 weeks now... Could it simply be the "Power Cut" switch for the Unichip? Here is what I did.About 2 weeks ago I decided to clean my MAF and check my ground wires and a few other things. Just general maintenance things. After cleaning and checking things and putting things back in order, I start'er up, let'er idle for about 10 minutes then go back to shut'er off and notice the CEL is on. I decide to drive it around a bit to see if the car was acting weird. I had heard that if the MAF was ruined, I couldn't rev over about 3k rpm. Well, it rev'd fine. Once nice and warm, I check lift. Yup, no problems there either.I come hom, shut it off.. later that night I go out for some food. The CEL didn't come on. I figured the original CEL was just a system check thing since I cleaned the MAF. The next day, I start it up, it's back on again. After several days, I begin to notice a pattern. It usually comes on the first start of the day but after driving a bit and shutting it off then starting it back up after an hour or so, it doesn't come back on - Till the next day.I went to one Auto place to get the code read, their OBDII thing is broken. Go to another, it can't read anythihg. I mean, nothing. Their reader is getting some kind of connection error.Today, I go to a 3rd place. They read it and come up with an OEM code of 1600 and give me a list of about 8 different things it could be, but all seeming to relate to the ECM.I disconnect the Unichip, and just run the ECM - No CEL. Plug back in the Unichip - CEL(Rough Idle as well). Fiddle with the switches, restart - No CEL (Idle and drives fine). Could I have a bad Power Cut switch on the Unichip?Possible errors range from...ECM B+circuit Malfunction1. Open or Short Circuit Condition2. Poor Electrical Connection--------"V", "R" body TCM internal watchdog operationThe TCM has detected that the power control relay is not functioning correctly1. Failed power relay1. Failed TCM--------Loss of kam power; open circuit--------Serial Communicatio Link Malfunction With TCM1. Open or Short circuit condition2. Poor electrical connection3. Failed TCM--------Power Supply Relay Terminal No. 15 Low Voltage Poor electrical connection1. Open or Short Circuit Condition2. Failed Relay--------Control module long term memory reset Key on-ECM has detected no voltage at the long term memory circuit1. Check power and ground at ECM2. Failed ECM--------ECM internal fault condition1. Failed ECM--------ECM BATT Malfunction1. Open or Short Circuit Condition2. Failed ECMCould this all be caused by my "Power Cut" switch not functioning correctly?Woe is me,Dave
sorry I replied to http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=29355 and not your thread, but all I could do was offer seemingly useless advice to check the EFI fuse, so you weren't missing much from me on this one
