Livin' loud with power from the Gods!

Post by special_ops9 »

Received my new amp week ago or so. Its a Hifonics Brutus BXi 1206D, I picked this because it pushed the exact watts I was looking for (1200W RMS @ 1ohm). Got my subs wired up double parallel, hooked um up to the multimeter .94 ohm total impedance. I was skeptical this amp would hold up because there aren't many that can handle 1 ohm and even fewer for under 200 bux. Well my verdict is in IT KICKS A$$. Running at full bore for 2 hours @ 85 F and the amp is barely warm to the touch! got the wires tucked through the box and siliconed in. Sounds awesome, enjoy the pics. last pic is with the carpet out, now have dynamat in all 4 doors, rear hatch, and now under the carpet. It really is noticeable. (KnuKonceptz 4ga to the Brutus and Stinger 8ga to the profile under the seat) Also got the factory grills off the doors and installed the ones that come with the Polk components and 2-ways, I tried making an MDF bracket to bring the speaker to the same level as the door plastic but this was a failure. What I ended up doing was bought 16 or those allen head M5 bolts some washers and nuts and just bolted the speakers to the plastic and put baffles behind them. Haven't had any rattle from the door. But the baffles kill any mid-bass the woofers produced before in the door, I'm going to take them off and see what it sounds like. for anyone that may be interested in these speakers, the components are awesome but go with the momo ones, and the 2-ways can't handle 80W - they are rated at 60W they worked and sounded great with the stock amplifier tho, After I installed the Profile 1040 I got 2 dead ones that are just for looks until I buy another component set.

Well, it seems Maj.com doesn't allow direct linking..... Do yourself a favor and get a Photobucket account man... it's free and SUPER easy, and it ment for direct linking.... you'll see...

l7s 2002 models, yes the GT-R badge is on there it really doesn't look bad. But I'm not sure why it wouldn't let me hot link, it works gr8 on eBay.edit: I like maj.com because I can upload zip files and I will automatically unpack them, hot linking wasn't working because I was linking to the gallery page not the image. oops

Considering it's the orgional badge of the Nissan Skyline and you are from from that. i'm just letting you in on the "ricer" joke. Now if you were running a supercharger and had a "supercharged" badge, that would be different... Just throwing that out there, not dissin ya....

I've "over amped" speakers in the past without issue for years... Were you using a crossover while running the polks (besides any factory crossover they might come with) If you were, what was it set at?

I was just using the crossover on the amp set to high-pass with everything turned down do it never had any clipping.
