Well, that's a really general place to start... ask yourself what your goals are...1. how much are you willing to spend, you gotta pay to play, but that DOESN'T mean an arm and a leg2. How much of a system are you after? Do you want a new head unit, amps, coaxial speakers or components, are you planning on adding a sub and subsquent amp with it... 3. What kind of sound are you after. Do you just want to add some bass or are you wanting a total make-over? 4. What kind of music are you into... if it's all rap, a 15" or 2 should do, but if your a Jazz person, a single 8" or 10" could suffice. 5. Are you planning on doing the install yourself? This can save you HUNDREDS of dollors, depending on what you want and how far you want to go with it.... There are many places you can get yourself prepaired for it as well.... look down the forum for my "everything you wanted to know about car audio" post and get reading... 6. Do you care about losing space? 7. How complex do you care to get with it... The big thing is budget, outline what your willing to spend and ideas can be exchanged... I do this ALLLL the time on my Subaru forum, it's to bad we don't have as many active members here as we do over there, in this forum.... Answer these questions and we can get started... Congrats, your taking a big step toward Vibe nervania...

well, im just doin an exhaust and intake for sound, then some springs to add a bit of handling, and after that i wanted to throw down for some nice speakers. not sure how much i will have to spend on it by then but i want some good bass, and some good sound if i ever wanted to just crank it at a meet or somethin. but most of my stuff is rap or electronica. some rock.so basically what can i get that is decent and about how much will it cost?

Well to start, i'm going to link you over to here... http://forums.nasioc.com/forum...24983Just beacuse of the shear amount of info, and the lack of place to start with your system. Like i said, you sorta need a plan, unless you just want to toss some "stuff" in there... if that IS the case, just about anything will do... Saying "decent" to an installer can get you many different things....

My recommendation is always buy the best head unit you can afford. Start there and work your away around the vehicle for the other components. A good head unit sets the tone in an audio installation.

I have less than $1000 in my audio and it is the best system I have ever had in a car. I am more than please with 2 Fosgate 10's w.325.1 mono amp ($279 at bestbuy + $80 for install kit), Sony deck ($200 + $30 for dash kit and wiring harness), Sony rear door speakers ($60) and Memphis front door speakers($90). If I were to upgrade, I think I would go with components for the front and a 4-channel amp to get a little more out of the rear door speakers. I agree with Sublimewind--do get a good head unit. If/when you add an amp, DEFINITELY use a capacitor. Even with mine, my headlights still dim when the bass hits--while drive, not just at idle. And I think our alternators are $250+

Sorry, I agree with celtic about the h/u. Didn't mean to get the wrong name there. Anyway, I think two 10's are plenty in a Vibe. I couldn't imagine having more...my tens make my head hurt.
