What tires should I get?

Dayum! A 100K miles out of one set.......I'd look at another set of the same kind. Our TripleTreds now have 17K and still look new.

I was going to say you can get everything you mentioned out of TripleTreds. They have an 80,000 mile warranty and are great in rain, snow or dry. I have a set of MasterCraft's (Sensys 01) that have served me quite well for over 40k miles now. They are a cheaper brand, but have done as well or better than any other all-season tire I've ever owned in the snow and I have never had a problem in the rain. Plus, they are reasonably quiet and handle quite nicely in general.http://www.mastercrafttires.comThough, I did hit a nasty pothole a few weeks ago and I think I may have broken/slipped a radial belt... I get strange vibrations now at certain speeds and balancing all four wheels didn't help. EDIT: The vibration was actually caused by a damaged tie-rod end... the tires survived unscathed.

When the time comes, I'm looking at getting Kumho Solus KH16 that run about $70 per tire. A good improvement over the rubber on it now. The Triple-Treads cost about $40 more per tire and have better ratings in all measures except road noise. The Turanzas are even more expensive and are rated across the board the same as the TT's, except T's are quieter. If you can afford them, I'm not sure you're going to find anything better than the Turanza's your used to.

I would say a set of Bridgestone Potenza's which are fairly priced and will last you a while along with great performence.

i'm not 100% sure about what kind of all season tire is the best, but look around on this site http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse. they have the best prices on tires that i've seen anywhere, with free shipping. just click "discount tires" on the left side of the page, and search away. after i found what i wanted, i went to discount/america's tire co. with a printout of the page and they matched the price without blinking an eye.the tires i got were 215/45/17 nitto neo-gens for $88 each tire installed before i got the road hazard warranty. discount/america's tire's regular price was about $110 installed. i don't know how they handle on the snow, but they are great for everything else you mentioned. i think the best thing about em is that they can be rotated normally without having to be taken off of the wheel and remounted, and are also reinforced for lowered vehicles with negative camber to reduce treadwear

I know you stated you don't want summer/winter sets of wheels, but i personally feel that "all" season tires are "no" season tires, they are a compromise between decent summer traction and hardly mediocre winter traction... I would to summer type tires and drive like a 80yr old woman in the snow... That or consider Kumho ASX (i think that's the letters, look at Kumho and you'll see) which is a high performance no-season tire... that should get you through the slush, and be good on dry pavement.I've owned at least 3 sets of Kumho tires and have got nothing but GOOOD to say about them. They have done me very well over the years. I like discount tire directs prices and free shipping...

+1 for the Kumho ASX, as for no-season tires, I feel that with my AWD even with crappy RS-As I made it through a lot other people could not have.

I was going to go with Michelin (Energy MXV4 S8), but the price was staggering.....so today I ordered the KH21 Kumho Solus. We sell many different brands of tire, and I've never had anything but surprise and thanks for recommending the Kumho brand. The other tire I was considering was the Hankook H727, but it's not in wide distribution yet, and I'm sick of the square Goodyears. I put on a set of Goodyear Comfort Treds about a year ago. Also, went up a size to 205/60/16. Really like how the car rides, is quiet and ok in light snow too.My mileage on the Interstate, per the odometer, was unchanged, which results in a 3% gain.

My 2 cents, and that's about what it's worth....I just put Bridgstone Potenza G009s on both of our Vibes. Big improvment over the GY RSAs needless to say. Handle great! Should handle the rain without problems. We'll have to see about snow and ice (not that we get much) this Winter. They get great ratings on Tirerack and Discount Tire. I've run BSs for well over 15yrs w/o incident. Wouldn't drive on anything else. (came close to Toyos!)

Today I replaced my Bridgestone Turanza LS-T's. Certainly can't complain about them, there was still plenty of tread left on them, but they were howling at highway speeds. Can put up with that, they only had 106,644 miles on them Replaced them with Goodyear Assurance TripleTreds, as many here have recomended. I give credit though, to MadBill, who first mentioned TripleTreds here at genvibe almost three years ago in http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...70735I was going to get Michelin Hydroedge, but comparing them to the TTs at tirerack, the TTs were slightly better overall, and cheaper too.I got the stock size, 205/55/16, and they seem fine so far. (all of six miles on them ) Will be interesting if we ever get any precipitation here again, to see how the tires handle it.I got them at a local tire store. The price was about the same as what I would have had to pay to buy them online, get them shipped, and then mounted locally, and this way I have a brick&mortar to rant at if I have any problems with them.My alignment was off a small amount also, toe in was off on both fronts, both pointed right, so the car still tracked straight, but the steering wheel was off a little. Overall the cost was definitely non-trivial, but I spend so much time in the car at highway speeds, it is important to me to have good tires, so it was worth it to buy top quality. I put my money "where the rubber meets the road"Thanks to all for the advice.

Excellent choice. Now have 20K on our TripleTreds and still look new.
