Best trans cooler for 05 base? Will be towing close to capacity.

Post by wisvibe »

Hello all, I just purchased an 05 base with auto and plan on towing an enclosed utility trailer. I figured a trans cooler will help. We plan on keeping the car a long time and want to do everything to extend it's life. It was recommended not to go with the dealers extended warranty so I really want to do what I can. Thanks

i don't know about specific to the vibe, but i have a hayden tranny cooler on my LGT and was told it's the best kind. you want a serpentine style (i believe that's what it's called). can be found on ebay for about $50 shipped.

I installed a big one (for trucks & SUV's) from Advanced Auto. About $30 if I remember right. If you plan on keeping the vibe a long time and not modifying it too much, then I would go with the extended warrenty. Cause you know that the minute that warrenty is up your car will start falling apart! Don't tell the dealership that you do a lot of towing. Then they'll say that it's your fault for the 'excessive' wear.
