It's not a bad looking car, although I would never buy another Ford again. Both Fords I had had brake issues. The Fusion is getting a lot of exposure, thanks to American Idol.

The ford fusion is sweet imo. Its the exact same thing as a mazda 6, so is the milan and lincoln zephyr (now the mkz or something). the milan has an upgraded suspension though so its much smoother driving. They are rumored to be making a 2door turbo 2.3l ford fusion...now that would be swweeeeet.

I like the looks of them. It's been a while since Ford has come out with a car that I would be willing to own and drive. They just need to get rid of those ugly (removed) chrome grills.

Aesthetically, I like the Fusion...mechanically, I haven't looked that close to see if it is something I would want to buy. Also, since it's pushing close to $30,000 I find it hard to swallow that price tag for what it is...

I kind of like the grills. At least it's different. I wouldn't buy one, though.

great looking car. decent options with respect to drive trains.Only two real problems I see with the car, other than price. Fuel economy isn't great for a car in this class. Only 23mpg via the new test methods.Transmission issues have started to pop up, which tends to be a common complaint about late model Fords. Overall decent reviews on carsurvey.org, though.

i think it looks good, i think the fusion is more of a replacement for the taurus than the 500i hope it handles better than the 500 (my dad got a 500 a few months ago). he let me drive it and on roads that i can comfortably take the vibe at 40mph (and i'm not lowered) i had to take with the 500 at 30-35. there was a large amount of body lean/roll thru the turn.

We drove a brand new (at the time) Mercury Milan as a rental when we were in Detroit. I was actually very impressed. Ours was just the FWD 4-banger, but I enjoyed driving it. I definitely liked it better than the rental Chevy Malibu V6 that got the wheels/tires stolen off of it!

According to Wikipedia (which isn't always accurate, I know), the Taurus isn't going away, it's seemingly going larger to replace the 500 in the lineup as a full size car.So, I suppose you could say the Fusion is replacing the Taurus, while the Taurus us replacing the 500, lol.

Ford can't sell the 500, so it's renaming it the Taurus. I guess Ford thinks that since they sold trillions of Tauruses, people will buy the car on name alone. Are Americans really that gullible???

Yeah, the 500 was a flop, cause it was an overpriced Taurus. The problem is that the Fusion is overpriced too. I like them and would love to have ther V6 Model, but not for what they want.As for the focus.... it basically replaced the contour/escort line. It was the new "economy" car for Ford, and the 500 was the mid sized.... the fusion was a shot right in the middle. Trying to get the people who wanted a smaller car, but still wanted the luxuries of a mid sized or larger car.Plus, they needed something for Nascar, and the 500 would have never worked

Where are you guys getting $30,000 from? I see 3 trims (S, SE, SEL) ranging from $17,700 - $22,400...and that's msrp - I have never paid msrp in my life for a car.To get close to $30,000 I have to add every possible option to the SEL (AWD, Moon Roof, abs, Navigation, upgraded radio w/6 disc changer, Satellite Radio, Leather seats, Heated seats, and rear spoiler), and it still only comes to $28,470 when you subtract the cash back incentives...and that's without negotiating 1¢.

yeah..30k? I know they are around 20. I was looking into one, but depending on my new job/career id like a FI/awd car. this fusion is awesome though, but if you go test drive it, try the mercury milan afterward, you'll notice the suspension is way better.

I was watching TV on the weekend and they had some show on and they were reviewing the Fusion SEL AWD. They seemed to like it. After that they went to some custom shop who added a 3rd chrome grill piece to the lower lip, put on a body kit, lowered it, bigger rims, CAI, Magnaflow catback, etc. The car looked great!

Did you guys see the Car and Driver thing. They took a Ford Fusion V6 AWD and put it against a 4 banger Accord LX and a 4 banger Camry. Now first off using the AWD in the comparo is not really comparison if not offered by the other cars. Secondly using a 6 vs. 4. People were all wowed by the Ford. Please, it's fugly, the taillights look like oversized lava lamps and I see no benefit to this car. I would rather buy the Mazd 6. It's the same engine, 3.0L V6 but is just better built with better quality. Mazda only shares the engine, tranny, frame nothing more. Not to mention you can get a Mazdaspeed 6 with a turbo and AWD. Now that's slick! The Fusion to me looks like another poor attempt at Ford to try and get some small, mid size car attention because all their SUVs and Trucks are flopping big time. What they need to do is redesign the Escape, come out with more Hybrids, and fix the still lingering (even on 07s) rear end suspension on Explorers. They have saggy bottoms.

my cousin has an 04 Mazda 6S with the V6. 200+hp, looks great with the lip kit and leather, moonroof, heated seats, pwr. everything, spoiler. 17" wheels. Mazda does some engine tuning the the Ford 3.0L too. They add their own form of valve timing and different components such as injectors, and such so you get a much better built block.

I gotta hand it to Mazda they really make a dang good car given they are using Ford engines and chassis'. Ford Focus - Mazda 3Ford Fusion - Mazda 6, Mazda 5Ford Edge - Mazda CX-7Ford Escape - Mazda TributeFord Ranger - Mazda B-seriesFord Freestyle/Explorer - Mazda CX-9Now do any of these cars look alike. Maybe GM should take note and do something about their sheet metal work (Cobalt and G5 for example). GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook for another comparo.
