Time for a new feature here on GenVibe. This is where you can come and post the STUPIDEST Thing you have seen today. So far, I have seen a car written up that the front drivers window won't work....it was the passenger REAR. Too bad we ordered the parts to fix what the advisor said was broken Let's see what other dumb things happen in our worlds today.

While we are talking about customers that are stupid. I had a work order today, the problem described was "Cable unplugged from computer".... I drove the few miles over the the user, thinking maybe it was a broken cable or something that I would actually have to fix, or that he might have just put something down... no, it was actually an unplugged cable, there was the cable laying there. I even asked if there was more of a problem, and he said "Nope, just that cable".... so I plugged it in and left.... wishing to just cry.....

Well, this didn't happen today, but I've been dying for a reason to post this one.We have a large water retention area just north of our office. It's finally got some grass growing and is nice to jog around. There are some elevated areas that folks will drive on and - once in a while - test their four-wheeling skills. So, I'm leaving my office late and I see something very surreal. A huge vehicle looks like it's been dropped nose first into the ground near this area. I get a little closer and, seeing no dead bodies, take a couple of pics with the camera phone from my car, 'cuz it's too darn stupid!Just as I start to get back home, I hear someone shouting at me. I look behind me and this lanky kid with mud all over him comes running to my car. Yup, this is his vehicle...well, it's his dad's vehicle and he needs a tow truck. But he lost his cell phone and he doesn't have his driver's license. But he's got his dad's credit card. Hmmmm....So, after minutes with the county sheriff's office (we both spoke with them on my cell phone), they arrange to get a tow truck out there....with a sheriff escort. I'm outa there with only my imagination to suggest what Daddy's gonna do when he finds out. Here's what I saw:
That is great, The things people do with cars.I too have done similar things. When me and my best friend were like 14, we took (yes took) my step dad's old pick up to go two tracking out behind our house (I lived in the COUNTRY). Well, we came to this puddle (lake) about 15-20 long on the trail. We wanted to hit it fast and see how high we could spray the water while hydoplaning. So we get the 1982 Dodge RAM a running, and in about 3rd gear (maybe 35-40 MPH which is fast on a two track) we hit the water. It went perfect for about 10-15 feet... slowed us down some, and sprayed water everywhere. Then BAM.... the axel catches a rock that was underwater and we STOP. We tried to back out for about 15 minutes, tried rocking it back in forth some, but ended up walking home. We had to get the farmer that owned the land (which had no trasspasing signs posted) pull us out. The clutch was burned out, the interer had muddy water all in it, I am sure we caused all sorts of damage to the tranny, and bent the axel..... Man those were the days, lolNeedless to say, My parents were not happy, and it's a good thing he was getting a new car anyway.... we didn't even sell that truck, just called a local junkyard and they came and took it for scraps.
Tire Rack sent me 4 rims today. Hope ordered 17x7.5 ASA rims with bolt pattern 5x100. Well they show up at my work and I'm looking at the box and they say 18x8 ASA rims with 30 offset, 5x114 bolt patter. Needless to say I'm instantly pissed off thinking how much of a hassel this will be to return and get the correct set... but I open a box to find the correct size rims in the box... Someone at Tire Rack needs to label their boxes properly.
