Styrofoam Beverage Holders with plastic ring top - extinct

Post by jake75 »

I used to buy these for about $1.19 for a set of 4. They lasted awhile but then wore out or got extremely soiled. Nothing better to keep a beverage cold. Today they are nowhere to be found. I saw one set of 10 Budweiser Styrofoam can holders on eBay - the bidding already topped $20 plus a $7 shipping fee. http://cgi.ebay.com/Ten-10-Bud...wItemAnyone seen these for sale anywhere lately? The foam ones they sell are hard to get the cans in and out and do not seem to be as efficient in keeping the beverage cold.

Around here they were called a huggy muggy. I think I still have a couple kicking around but have not seen them for sale.

I haven't seen those since I was a kid, lol. At all the family reunions, the "drunk uncles" always had those. My grandma still has a pile of them at her house, but you are right, I haven't seen them for sale in forever. I have a collection of the zip up foam ones, and the foam can holders.... but that is it. I am sure they stopped making them for "enviromental" reasons....But they were perfect for beaches, or any outdoor activity.

Now those take me back. We didn't go to the races on Saturday night without them when I was a kid.
