Yes it does need to be cut. I cut it right where the port comes off for the hose that does'nt even get used. When you get the bypass they give you a template to trace around the pipe so you know exactly how much to cut off. Pretty simple.
NICE... ME LIKES>>>> I got myself the injen pre-filter (hydro-sheild) and with even driving around in flooded streets.we got 3inches of rain in less than 24 hr period around here i didn't have a problem. Mind you I wasn't flying threw the streets 10-15mph tops I never had a problem.

Ooh, nice, can I have your stock front grills?!?! Been looking for someone with the billet '05+ grills to see if they would be willing to part with their stockers as I have the kit with the '05+ openings and have a '04 Vibe.

Here you go Cole, some better pics of the bypass valve. I actually just got done driving and noticed a difference in sound. Before the intake sound was deep, but now it is not as deep and sounds more smooth. I dont know if it is b/c of the bypass valve or something else. But i like the new sound better.
ok, since i had an 03 and we are getting rid of the 04, i have to ask what the little filter is coming out from the engine cover?? i don't recall having anything like that to replace on either or our 03/04 models. is this new for the 05+?

And actually where my bypass is, that is where the port used to be. i cut it out to put in the bypass
Come guy hook this poor guy out. He's been looking for some stock bumper grill's for some time now. He will "WORK FOR GRILL'S" Hate to see a grown man beg. lol...nuvibe
