Blower motor vibration

Post by MarkM04 »

I recently changed the cabin filter on my '04. Now, if put the fan on the top two highest speeds, the blower motor/fan vibrates like crazy.I thought maybe something dropped down in the fan to cause it to go out of balance. But I blew compressed air in there, so everything should be out. Anyone else have this problem. I don't really want to tear the thing apart.

Sorry to resuscitate this, but did you ever take care of your problem?I've seen some of the other threads but a lot of them deal with the blower motor dying, not so much with the vibration after filter change. That's exactly what seems to have happened with mine. Thanks,

I've heard things can get stuck in between the blower vanes. Those may not blow out even with compressed air. You might try getting a really good look with a mirror or by pulling the blower out.

I'm going to resurrect this problem, as I am having the exact same problem. I just replaced the motor that operates the flap, you know the old clicking sound problem, and replaced the cabin air filter, and now I am having some major vibrations coming from the blower motor on high speeds. Has anyone solved this problem yet?

Edit: after reading the thread on how to remove and replace the blower motor, I'm starting to think something fell down in between the blades when I removed the filter. Maybe a leaf or small gremlin. I'll take it out and have a look, hopefully I can just dump out whatever is in there.

Well, I found the problem. And I also found my missing socket from when I was replacing the actuator motor.

Good for you!
In another car I once found a dead mouse in the blower. Luckily I got it right away before it started reeking.
