Looks awfully similar to a Trix in the front, especially with the foglight placement. I will be at the NY Auto Show next month and plenty of pics of cars for all of you, including this car!
i remember reading i think in sport compact car that the new 'impreza' or whatever it would be called would be a hatch...hmmm.looks cool. but looks like a mazda 3 to me

been watching this one closely. According to some of my co-workers in sales who got to see the real pic of the Impreza last week... that is very close. I'm reserved on my opinion of it as I'll base my like or dislike of it once I see it for real. But from what I've seen so far, I'm glad I bought a 2007.

i'd heard subaru got rid of the guy who came up with the airplane nose...i guess he's gone on to golf carts!!!but i agree. now the new nose looks a little too mainstream. what, did they hire someone from buick?by the way, whelan, i don't know. the trix front looks bettergood choice on the o7, mav

I still see a resemblance. The lower part is more like a 3 with the open mouth angled the other way, but from the corner where the fogs are up to the bottom of the grille, looks matrixy to me.

i like the new hatch. does remind me of a Mazda 3. the front grill is so so, but i prefer it over the pignose and ginormous wing. does it matter? not really, i'd more than likely be getting a different grill for the car IF that ends up being my next venture next year. until then, I like playing with my auto STI for now. besides, I can honestly say I plan to keep my car for many years to come, even with the car coming up on it's 2 yr mark. pretty remarkable for me. LOLand once added to the herd (if that's what I decide on), that'll be 3 STI's in the garage. and by the time we are done, they will all be well over 300/300. so it really won't matter what the front end looks like as most folks will be looking at the tail end.

i hope it's lighter weight than the current models. but we'll see. they are changing a lot on the engine, so i may end up holding out til 09 so they can fix the bugs. just depends.
I'm going to be a little different than normal despite past feelings of doing otherwise and just say that I like many aspects of the new front end, but together I'm not sure they look good together. The hood looks sweet, but minus the front end, the body looks kind of BMWish to me.

i like the lower grill from the pic, but the upper grill doesn't quite match the rest imo. again, i wouldn't really care since it'd make no difference to me. i just want a 6MT, AWD, and 300/300 out the gate without having to do anything to the car. plus, i want a hatch for business.
one of the guys on NASIOC found this. i like it! just change the grill a little and red out the tails and it's awesome! i miss my hatch!!!http://www.motortrend.com/av/f...ound/
