Sounds like your lighter is screwed, not the socket.I smoke and sometimes it sticks,I had it one time shoot out on the floor mat and burned a hole in it,luckily it wasn't the original mats.

dismantling the console wont get it out. youll just have to pull really hard or pry it out. you could pull the fuse. break the plastic knob then pull the coiled element out, then the sleeve. i had to do that once on a old sunbird.then i just bought another lighter.
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!

I wouldn't trust the strength of the plastic the lighter socket is mounted in, so be careful

While we are on this topic, does any one have a lighter they don't use? I smoke, and would just liek to have it, but I don't liek the looks of some of the aftermarket ones. I am sure I could break down and buy a $1 lighter, but what fun is that, I want a OEM one.

Mine has the lighter but I don't smoke, If you have the cover for it (like the ones that did not have the smokers package) I will swap you. I also have the ashtray that goes in the cup holder.

When I get home tonight I will check the cover and see how easy it comes off (I do have it, and am willing to trade). Thanks alot. Is there anything else you need or want that I might have let me know...
