Snow is coming! Yay!

Post by BlueCrush »

We are finally getting our first big snowstorm of the season here in Minnesnowta and maybe the biggest since 1999. Forecast is for 15"-18", starting today and ending on Sunday or Monday. I love big storms (rain or snow).I'll have to go and have a little(safe) fun in the Vibe this weekend.Hooray or higher profile tires and AWD!

I wish that was me. I am sick of CT. The weather people here are the worst. They told us a solid 2-4" yesterday starting at 5pm. It started raining at 12pm, then they said at least 2" by morning. Well it rained until about 8pm, then turned to light snow till about 11:30, then back to rain. I awoke this morning to them saying snow tapering off in the AM. I open my window to see the sun and wet roads, no snow. If anything there is less snow on the grass and piled up from plows due to rain. What a crock!

Must be the same storm that is gonna dump 6" with blizzard like conditions on us. This is the time of year that I hate most, 55 degrees one day blizzard the next. It gets your hopes up then smashes them with a hammer.

We got the snow you were hoping for here in Albany. 4" last night, 29" last week and by the looks of it, another foot over the weekend after it passes by Minnesota and Michigan. You should head up here this weekend, most of our streets still have lots of snow. I know you're dying to get your AWD Trix out in it again

Our weather folks have been known to be wrong before. So, I actually would not be surprised if we got 5" vs. 15". We shall see!

They just revised the forecast to snoe starting tonight instead of today and the amounts are now going to be between 6-12" instead of 15-18", lol! Oh well, I'll still have fun.

Thunderstorms and 50-ish here for the weekend. Oh well, maybe we'll have tornadoes, that would be swell! The most snow they've predicted here all winter was like 2-4" which equated to less than a dusting.

We had 12+ inches also with drifts of 3' in some areas. I had a 30" drift up against my garage door and after the plows went by there was a 4' wall of dense heavy snow to clear. Thank goodness for snow blowers. Helped out 4 of my neighbors clear the ends of their driveways as well. It was cool to see everyone out at the same time clearing the snow. Funny now a snowstorm brings people together. The bad thing is the snow plows were so on the ball that I didn't even get to play in it. I'll have to find an unplowed parking lot or two. lol.

Still waiting for the 4-8 inches of snow promised. It has been sleeting/freezing rain all day. My mini-van outside has a nice layer of ice while my garage-residing Vibe is nice and clean (washed it yesterday while it was sunny) but will change tomorrow as my wife will drive it to work.Sittin' here north of Detroit waiting for the gauntlet to hit us.Mike

Once again dissapointment. We did get 4-6" all over, but the roads were just plain wet, no snow on them when I woke up this morning. I am so irritated with plow trucks right now grrr!!! I had to go out on my lunch hour to an empty parking lot unplowed and do some AWD burnouts. Apparently I was watched cause a kid with his Honda Civic came in the lot and tried to do some circles with his E-brake. Once he got to the back of the lot he got stuck and his tires just spun and spun. I promptly pulled in the middle, did one AWD donut and left, lol.

You mean like this.Omaha is pretty much closed off. I-80 between Adair Iowa and Lincoln Nebraska is pretty much impassable. As well as I-29 from Souix City to the Missouri Line.

We probably got a good couple inches of rain last night. Many of my coworkers had water in their basement but I managed to escape that curse. We had that problem a couple years ago and hopefully had it taken care of correctly.Mike
