I own a 2003 Vibe with a Navigation Unit. The DVD data is dated from 2001. Anyone know where to get an updated DVD. The owner's manual says check with the dealer. I did any mine told me that the owner's manual isn't always correct.
This is a nice idea. A shame it doesn't help anyone here:Quote »SubscriptionGM is pleased to offer a subscription program beginning with all new North American 2006 model year GM vehicles (excluding Saab) equipped with factory-installed navigation systems. Owners of qualified GM vehicles will receive two free update discs for the navigation system on your first and second anniversary. To get your subscription disc update, you will receive a postcard mailing shortly before the one-year and two-year anniversaries of the purchase date of your qualifying vehicle purchase or lease. Both disc updates come to you completely free of charge as part of the value of owning a GM vehicle.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
I own a 2003 Vibe with the navigation system too. I've been trying for years to get updated data. Last year I ordered the new update from GMNavDisc.com (15906573) but it didn't work, so I returned it. Last week I noticed there was a different update listed (88973742) so I ordered it. I just received it today and opened the package to find I'd just paid over $200 for a disc dated August 2003, with a 2002 copyright on the map data - the map info on that disc is older than my car! Needless to say, I'm not happy. If 2002 data is the best GM is willing to do, I want to know what my other options are. Does anyone have Matrix part numbers that they know work? I know (by experiment) that my old disc was interchangeable with one for a Lexus a friend of mine has. Since then he's gotten a new Lexus data disc that updated his navigation software too. Does anyone here know if that software update disc will update our Vibes as well? Is there a software update disc for the Matrix? - Paul L.
Was there any real update of your nav system software, or just new maps and POI data?On a related topic, has anyone tried burning a copy of their nav DVD so the original one can be kept in storage for safekeeping? I know it's a dual-layer disc, but I don't know if there's any kind of copy protection on it.
