TurboTax '06 Issues

Post by new05vibeowner »

If anyone is planning to use TurboTax to do their taxes, you might want to be aware of an issue with the software this year, which they haven't fixed yet.My kid's college account generates about $1200 a year in interest, so I have to file Form 8814 so I can add her "income" to my taxes. Well, there's a "Calculation" issue with TT this year, which, until they fix it, will NOT allow the eFiling of my return. Now, normally, I wouldn't be PO'd about this, but I CANNOT file my taxes until they get the error fixed. God, I HATE when the IRS gets to leep MY money any longer than they have to.And before anyone suggests that I change my W-4, I earn commissions, which has the federal tax withheld at an exorbitant rate. The fix is supposed to be out by the end of next week, so I'll keep everyone posted.
Mods: 04 center armrest, 04 Matrix AM/FM/CD/Cassette, Electrochromatic rear view mirror w/compass, GM hood protector, Ventvisors on doors and moonroof, one-touch close moonroof. added 12v outlet in console, Goodyear TripleTred tires, Sirius satellite radio.

Didn't have any issues like you did, other than some of the fields for W2's were a little buggy/couldn't quite see all the space allotted (not that I needed it). If I didn't have to file PA and MD state income taxes (and I don't even live there. I'm in WA), I'd probably forgoe TT and do a 1040 by hand.BTW: Just filed mine with Turbo Tax...$5,800+ supposed to be deposited into my account before the 14th. I'll probably use it as a down payment on a new Accord...
