Installing Bazooka Tube

Post by shane_c »

I've had a bazooka tube sitting in the closet since Christmas. The local stereo place says the install will be $70 + $50 for the amp wiring kit. So that's why it's still in the closet. They're telling me I need the 10 gauge amp wiring kit. Does this sound right? My biggest concern with installing it myself is getting the 12V and ground and running the wires back in a clean manner. Does anyone have pics of having there's installed? Or pics on how to get the 12V and ground? Thanks!

click on the link in my sig to see pics at my car domain page. to run 12 volt you have to go straight from battery. you can poke a hole in the rubber grommet under brake booster. then fish the wire under dash to driver side kick panel. from there you can run under front and rear plastic door sills. then . fish the wire up into that long narrow compartment behind back seats. you can also use on of the child seat anchor bolts as a ground.(wires poke up thru that little anchor bolt door) i reccomend running your speaker or rca cable on the passenger side in the same manner) then i mounted mine to the cargo rail.
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!

I ran my +12v power directly from the battery, under the body following the fuel and brake lines. In the rear of the car I entered through the rubber grommet (hole plug) in the center of the spare tire cavity. My amplifier is located in the rear cargo area mounted to the sub box itself. The Bazooka should be similar, amp built into the speaker enclosure. High level speaker outputs route from the amp below the passenger seat ('04 M&T) on cat 5 to the amp in back. Ground is just found locally back there, I used the side mounted cargo hold tie-downs. Good 3/8" bolt to body (ground) right there.Oh- and for wire, forget the $50 overcharge kit (if you're budget conscience like me). I used 12 guage house conduit. Solder all three 12 guage wires together at both ends, and you'll have enough power to mount the engine in the back. It's double shielded and very tough stuff for routing under the body.
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

Shane, Do you have a Princess Auto in Calgary?I got my 10 GA kit that included trigger wire, RCA cables in-line fuse, main power cable, tie wraps , everything for 7.99!!!!!I get all my goodies from there and there is mail order.I did mine in almost the exact same way as Satrn9 but drilled a hole into the storage compartment (you know the long one in front of the spare) so all the excess wire are tucked out-of-the way. Very clean.I'll do a pic later....
