I bought the base vibe with intention of installing the supercharger. Originally I really liked the idea of preserving the warranty with the supercharger. But with all they delay I've been hearing, I would probably be out of warranty (over 36,000 miles) by the time supercharger ships. if not over 36k miles, at least pretty close to it.Aren't you sick of the delays? may be I should of bought GT

Yes, I am tired of delays, and empty promises. so here I am putting on a turbo on my vibe....It doesnt make any sense as far as warranty worries...but if I blow up my motor, i feel it is my own fault ...and some how I feel OK about that LOL!!!..I just like turbo alot , and opted for that instead of the SC... and I am like you in the sense that at this point, I wish that I had bought the GT as well, Even though I know i will have mor power with my set up.... The truth is ..is that when I 1st got the base Vibe, it was so much fun to drive zipping around, that I knew I should have bought the GT.... so now here I am putting a turbo on. Dont worry , the SC will be out this year , and you will still have over a year on your original warranty. If any thing will go wrong..it will be at 1st IMHO- THey are not making this set up to honor warranties--the are being conservative on pushing the 1zz--It is all good

I won't have over a year left on my warranty. the warranty is 36 months or 36,000 miles whichever come FIRST. by the end of this year, I definetely would of hit over 25,000 miles. so I would probably only have 6 months left. so this warranty (Pontiac dealer installed) doesn't do me much good, so I probably will install the supercharger myself to save some money.

Your car warranty may be up, but if the dealer-installed supercharger comes with a three year warranty, then they will fix it (and anything else related to it's failure) at their expense, for three years. Of course, you'd better read the fine print carefully. Just don't assume you'll lose out on a supercharger warranty until the SC is here and we can read the dang warranty.I just put new wheels and tires on my '86 nissan truck. The truck's warranty expired 14 years ago. But those tires are warranted for 50,000 miles, and that warranty has nothing to do with my truck's warranty. So if they fail within that mileage, I get some form of compensation.OpalBLue
I am pretty sure Supercharger warranty is not a "separate" warranty like your tires. I think it just won't void your existing warranty if you have Pontiac install it. Usually when you install any performance products, you void the car warranty. anyone agrees?

Based on the current GM performance supercharger package for the J cars, a supercharger totaly voids the warranty on the engine. Thats why the supercharger includes its own warranty on the enigne to replace the factory warranty. Vibe could be the same. Also I must have missed something about the timimg. Pontiac said the supercharger package was going to be available in the first quarter of 2003. We are only half way through the first quarter.
