The topic "Vibe makes good getaway car" reminded me of a situation that happened to me last August. My Dad and I where headed to my uncles house, and we where going to caravan up to my Great Aunts funeral. It was about 8Am Saturday morning. I was the only one at a red light, when a big guy in a Black Jeep Grand Cherokee pulled up behind me. The light turned green and my normally high standard transmission skills failed. The guy started honking as I was Starting the car, and we where on our way. I scooted in to the right lane so he could pass me. When he did he swerved, at me, he speed up, got in front of me, and slammed on his brakes. Thats when Dad and I both Flipped him off, and I passed him on the left. There was a Right turn ahead that I'd planned on taking, so I did, cutting him off. After making the Right turn I put my foot down to try and get away. Only to realize I was not driving the WRX I traded for the Vibe. The guy in the Jeep then got on the right side of me, and swerved again. At that point I saw a Left turn and took it. The Jeep continued on, and I never saw the guy again. At the time I'd only had the Vibe for a month, so the realization that I was not driving the WRX was a big shock in an emergency situation like that. So I think, the Vibe makes a Bad Getaway car.

This is why I didn't get the GT, I love my auto... But I've also been in the same kind of jam. I saw a lady coming up behind me in an SUV, she was dodging traffic. It was a two lane road, so I speed up so there was a guy right next to me so she couldn't pass (because I'm the police and all) block her from going anywhere. She get right up behind me and I break hard, the guy that was next to me turned right. there was a big truck ahead so I speed up to block her again, but she out runs me, cuts me off barley missing the truck and slams on her breaks, then goes on he merry way... I need a faster car

That's why I have a GT. I like having the extra power to be able to get in front of those that somehow have a right to do whatever they want. If i'm feeling nice, i'll just say 'whatever'. Because most often, those people are jerks..But, there are some times when I simply want to mess with them. :DEdit: Also that'd be where i'd be jotting down the guys' license plate number. Not to mention if he caught me on a bad day, i'd more than likely figure out a way to make him at fault for wrecking both our cars.

You kids should learn how to play nice in traffic.
"Don't look to the government to solve your problems, the government is the problem." Ronald Reagan"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." Ben Franklin.
I have to admit, I always want to just drive those kind of people off the road. It's one thing to drive a bit faster on the express way and "work" your way through traffic. But when the road is packed, and there is that one or two cars that are weeving, and cutting people off and coming within inches of cars, just to get a few car lengths ahead.... I just want to run them off the road. But the wife won't let me, and if anything happened to me (or the Vibe), just cause someone upset me, and I wanted to get infront of them and break check them.... it's just not worth it any more in my opinion.but I can't be mad at you guys for doing it, cause I understand how you feel.
Not to go off topic too much, we just need to figure out what little power we can get out of our base models (if we havent already), since the GT isnt avail. anymore...
