Better Brakes for a Regular Vibe

Post by Vibetastic »

My 2005 is just a regular model with an automatic trans and rear drums. The brakes have never seemed that great to me an I would like to improve them. Are there any good aftermarket kits for improving them? Would 4 wheels discs from a Vibe GT or the Matrix be easy to retro-fit?

since most of the stopping power is up front 4 wheel disc wont net you that much more performance vs. the cost and labor. try uprgrading to powerslot rotors and hawk or ebc pads most people find this combo very adequate. if you really want bigger brakes ssbc makes some nice kits with 4 piston calipers and such
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!

have you check ebay..? there are lots of parts store where you can find active brakes direct just look for a reliable dealer to avoid spending lots of $$.

1st change I'd do is go to ceramic pads, it made a huge difference on my '03. I need to do it on my '06, because they do feel a bit weak.

I heard a rumor that the pads were already ceramic on the Vibe... never bothered to look at them though. They are 1000x better than the brakes on my Cav ever felt though... When the rims go on for the spring/summer I'm going to install new rotors and Hawk ceramic pads. There is always room for improvement...

Nope, they are semi-metallic.
