Barrett-Jackson Auction

Post by BlueCrush »

Anyone else watching it this weekend? Carroll Shelby's personal car went for a record $5 million. WOW!!!!!It was a 1966 Shelby Cobra Twin Supercharged Super Snake - 800hpThere were only two ever built and the other one was destroyed. It was won by someone name Ron Pratt - Some super wealthy guywho has been bidding & winning cars left and right today. Must be nice.Last year the GM Futureliner bus set the record at $4 million. There are some really nice cars being auctioned off this weekend in Scottsdale, AZ. Perfect to have on while I'm working on the computer drawing houses. lol.

Dang! That Ron Pratt guy just won a boat used in a 007 Movie - The spy who loved me??? (I think) and a 1940 guitar used by Bill Haley.Along with several Ford Mustangs to add to his collection earlier today. This guy has money to burn! Unreal! The TV announcers said that they hope he brought several large truck as he has won a tone of auctions today. Who the heck is this guy?? Anyone ever heard of him? I did a google but couldn't find much. Just a bunch of other small time Ron Pratts.

Yep, too much money. Fantasy world ain't it? I saw a 65 Fastback that came with two barrell on it go for 50,000 this morning. I need to get mine painted and raise the 15g Hagerty on it I guess, mine's an A code. I think I have put about 500 miles on it since building the engine and top loader back in 93. I guess the auction is for folks who have made way too much money or the speculators. Kinda fun to watch though. Great car show.

Ya,wish I had lots of money. You don't drive your mustang much.I got my Chevelle painted last year,Took some searching to find the right place to do it.Cost a fortune.I think I have 100 miles on my rebuild,I had almost finished my restoration and the wife throws me a bomb and says she wants to buy a house. It's been 6 years and still not totally completed.Maybe someday before I die.

Yep. been watching as much as I can, I watched from about three yesterday afternoon until about eleven, with about a one hour break in between for dinner with the family.Every time I thought there was going to be a little lull, some interesting muscle car or something would come up, and I'd be hooked again.Personally, I think there was way way too many 67-69 Camaros rolling across the block, it soon became boring. Then the Shelbys started seeming to be everywhere. And who are these people that have that much disposable income?(ok, maybe I'm a little jealous, I'm in year 9 of a two-year restoration on my other car)Still a great show though.Unfortunately it will probably be the last time I get to watch it, as my cable provider is cutting Speed from my package, as it goes to an HD digital grouping. But I will continue to get the immensely useful channels like: Shopping, Ontario Legislature channel (now that beats a trip to Disney World anyday! LOL), Vision TV, and no less than four french-only channels, and I don't speak french. Oh, and I almost forgot, I will still get the Rogers propaganda channel.lucky lucky me.

I have been watching some all week long. There was a Cadillac 62 Convertible that went for 200k. Many muscle cars in the 50k range. A neighbor is selling his 66 GTO convertible for 45k, so I guess he is close on price.
