'05 Supercharged Vibe on Streetfire??

Not me...Is this anyone on here? If so, they would of had to use the DBW S/C adapter TB plate and use and E-manage or Unichip to run it.http://videos.streetfire.net/r...3.htm

I wish he would've included the tach in the video.

I think he has his windows down. You can't really hear the S/C whine though.

He had some good speed up until about 50-60, and then it wasn't overly impressive. Still entertaining, and I am still impressed over the burnouts, but I am not 100% believable on this person having a S/C

He definitely does have an S/C. It has more of a whistle than a whine. You cannot spin the tires from a 20mph roll on an n/a auto, yet he can do it easily. Seems like it has a lot of torque, just not a lot of hp. I don't think it is a TRD S/C. It must be a custom S/C like GReddy or Rotrex. I would like to see more than just the speedo (like the engine bay).

i'm wondering if the "burnouts" from a roll are just him dogging his tranny. get going about 20, shift to neutral, rev it up and slam it into drive.

i dont think so, in the vid the you hear the squeal as the engine revs, not after the it revs up.

Thats what it sounded like to me. I was waiting for him to leave his tranny on the ground somewhere on the street. I can diffinately hear the SC whine when he hits about 50 mph. SC are good for low end torque, turbos are good for high end HP. Which is probably why diesel trucks, more often than not, have turbos rather than SC. The diesel already gives them more than enough low end torque.

i dunno. we test drove the saturn ion redline s/c and it wasn't overly impressive. i didn't get on the gas too much because of the salesman not really wanting us to. it'd be a step up on the base vibe, but still i was expecting a little more OOMPH out of the s/c. however, it was a more even power and smooth acceleration. felt like how the car should have actually been from the factory.

Alright for anyone that wants to know I joined genvibe a few nights ago and i saw this topic. This 05 vibe is mine, it is COMPLETELY stock. I had to make a video for school with windows movie maker. As you can see it is completely not supercharged lol. The rolling burnouts were on gravel going 20 in first gear and i took some burnout sound clips and added it. But im glad it was "somewhat" convincing lol

Sounded like it wasn't supercharged and it sure didn't appear to be. Glad to know the truth behind the video though!

Cuz it's an automatic. That was made a month or two before the tranny went out.

Seriously, it there any way a 2zzge can be safely turbocharged, without changing out the internals?

yes, many have done it on matrixowners, and lots of celica gt-s owners do it. you have to get stronger internals when you start upping the psi past a certain limit where it puts to much stress on the engine internals. idk what it is with a turbo.

Quote, originally posted by northvibe »lancer your vid doesnt work Yes it does. Turn on your active-x controls. You can go up to 300 hp, but only if you have it tuned perfectly. Otherwise 260hp, around 14psi is the most I would take it up to on stock internals. And that's only at the track. For daily driving I'd stay around 10-12 psi.
