Mazda CX-7

Post by djb383 »

Jan '07 Consumer Reports 0-60 = 9.1 and 16.9 1/4. Hummm, must be a really small turbo.

The problem is the engine is tuned like a mazdaspeed 3, so its the same engine as a MS6 but with less hp/torq. So after some MS parts or aftermarket this puppy should have more hp/torq than a MS6. it will also depend if its awd or fwd. oh yea and its heavier than a ms3 or 6but that 2.3T engine has some potential.

Those numbers cannot be acurate. The idiots at Consumer report must've goofed up again. I've driven the CX-7. It's TONS faster than a vibe!! a 5 speed vibe at that.

My base 5spd Vibe does 16.8 on the 1/4 with regular fuel. If they pulled out a 16.9... I'm f4st3r

/drooling @ some tricked out CX-7's from http://www.mazdausa.com:This one's by far my favorite..just wow... Quote »"ADRENALINE" CX-7Blurring the lines between a sport-utility vehicle and a sports car, Mazda reveals a more powerful, more aggressive CX-7 SUV, code-named Adrenaline. Adrenaline is a fully running prototype that Mazda engineers tricked-out by converting the CX-7 to a six-speed manual transmission, the same transmission found in the MAZDASPEED6. With the help of rallyist and drifter Rhys Millen and his team in Huntington Beach, Calif., Adrenaline pushes out more than 300 horsepower, thanks to a re-tuned engine with a modified intake system, header with a free-flow exhaust and more boost from the re-plumped turbo. A wider, lower stance and a bold new face give an aggressive and firmly planted sporty stance. 22-inch EXE wheels with a greater-than-stock offset and 285/35-R22 Yokohama tires provide an aggressive look and sure on-the-road ride and handling. Inspired by the yellow jerseys worn by bicyclists to signify leaders, Mazda designers chose gradating yellow paint theme, which gives the impression of the vehicle punching through the atmosphere. It is bright, bold and sporty. Quote » "PHOBIA" CX-7This new tricked-out Mazda CX-7 from Troy Lee Designs will turn ‘spider haters’ into ‘spider lovers’ with one quick glimpse. The “Phobia” CX-7 takes the all-new 2007 CX-7 to the extreme by creating a piece of art that uses the CX-7 as the artist’s canvas. To give the CX-7 a high-performance look and feel, 20” Volk Wheels, 255/45-20 Yokohama Tires and window tinting by A-1 Tinting were added. Performance inspiration is derived from Touring GT racing and rally racing. Suspension modification, cross-drilled big brake kit and custom brake fabrication builds upon the CX-7’s already superior handling performance. Other performance components include an off-center hood scoop, bigger turbo with more boost and larger intercooler, wider in-bumper intakes and larger front grille. Inside, custom leather seats by Katzkin and custom floor mats by Intro-Tech Automotive take the CX-7 to new levels of creativity. In addition, an Azentek 2DIN radio replacement PC that includes navigation, rear-seat DVD entertainment system, voice-activated Internet and e-mail capability and an AM/FM radio complement the exterior. Quote » "WICKEDLY RED" CX-7Mazda’s all-new 2007 CX-7 has been described by critics as “distinctive and sophisticated” and “the SUV you never saw coming.” Mazda along with the DG Motorsports team created a “Wickedly Red” CX-7. There is no denying this is a Mazda CX-7 crossover SUV, but the immediate WOW-impact of the blazing paint job is equally matched by the body styling components from DG Motorsports appearance package. Large 265/35-22 Pirelli P-Zero tires with high-performance black 22-inch Spinout wheels designed by Perfectly Round completes the exterior design. The stunning custom red suede Stitchcraft interior continues the exciting exterior design inside. Another custom interior feature is the Sony X-plod audio/video system. Needless to say, Mazda’s all-new CX-7 crossover SUV got a wickedly sensational makeover.
