Water leak

Post by SinisterMind »

Few weeks ago we had heavy rain and I drove the Vibe through some deep water. When I got home I noticed water dripping from the bottom of the dash into the foot well area on both sides. Any idea how the water got inside? Cabin air intake maybe?

That's the cowl above the hood, below the windshield.Do you have a moonroof? It's *possible* (not likely though) that one or more of your drains is disconnected and draining into the car...Otherwise, not really sure how to explain that one, there's no logical reason for that to happen...

I do have a moonroof, but I think it's highly unlikely that that is the culprit. I have driven the car in heavy rain without any problems. This was the only time where I drove through deep puddles. I suspect the fresh air intake allowed the water to get inside.

you better check that cabin air filter then... that should be a little moist.also check all your fluids if you went through something that deep.
