battery hold-down

Post by CAN-AWD-VIBE »

is it just me or is the hook portion of the battery hold down the worst thing in the world?I had to replace the OEM this afternoon as I was getting the Christmas light spectacular all over the dash, ABS, SRS, EBRAKE, BATTERY, all on at once. So I pulled out the old one and Mcgivered the other one into place (34/78 group)... then tried to hook that J-bolt thing. Think I could tighten it down with it not spinning out of the hole??? no.I'm pissed off and cold now, and it's in as best as it is going to get for tonight. Sorry for the rant but you would think they could come up with a better plan then the hold down bolt in there. Then again, maybe I did it wrong?

Haha. I think it is operator error. I have removed mine several times and never had a problem with it. LOL.

maybe the curve on the "J" is not tight enough, too much like an "L", I'll bend it more in the shop when I install the CAI and there is some more room. But holy crap was that annoying, everytime i had it lined up and getting tight, it would move and be completely useless.
