Vibe AWD or FWD ?

Post by kentb31 »

I can get my hand on of the last 2006 AWD Vibe here in my area.Is it worth the $2500-3000 extra buck for this ?What about gas consumption ?Relatively special, when compared to the FWD, how muchMPG (US gallon ) do you loose ?Do you really notice a difference in the snow and ice ?Just wondering...PS...decided to go with the VIbe over MAtrix...

I would say go for the AWD. The gas is not that big of a deal Maybe 3-5 MPG less with the AWD. In the snow and Ice it is hands down better.

fuel consumption is no big deal... it's still decent.the AWD is a huge difference in the snow and from a stop on ice... the face on guy in the car next to you as you pull away on a 1" thick sheet of ice while he is stuck spinning is great.get it and love it

yeah if you get snow. then get the AWD, i live in MN and have the FWD vibe, its okay i guess, but i spin tires all over the place and i kinda wished i got the AWD. The only problem with awd is it doesnt have all the performance parts the FWD one does, but if you arent going to mod the crap out of it your A okay

FWD GT. LOL If you get a lot of snow, sure. AWD would be good. But if you get snow only a couple of months out of the year, I'd say FWD.

AWD, hands down! Forget Snow, in the rain the AWD is a huge advantage, and in the dry the Independant Rear Suspension makes mine corner like a go-cart! (All FWD's have a beam rear axle)
