Shoe string ice scrapper

Post by PopeyeFAFL »

Yesterday, in Québec, we had our first real day of winter. So, I went to work, and as I left work, late afternoon, my Vibe was covered with a 3/16" ice shell. But I soon realised, that I didn't have any ice scrapper !!!! (left them in the yard storage house).I started the engine, put the heat to full maximum, after 5 minutes, I saw that the bottom of the windshield was slowly being clear out, but it would have took, much too long, to get the whole windshield clear. So being an Engineer, I was looking for anything that look like an ice scrapper.I found it, by removing the left dashboard storage compartment, when you remove it, the lower/bottom edge can act as a scrapper.1 minute after, I was on my way.

None, what so ever, but I let the windshield being warm enough, so I didn't have to use that storage pocket as a hammer.

According to "Dictionary.com"Shoe string noun 1. a small amount of money; "he managed it on a shoestring" [syn: shoestring] 2. a lace used for fastening shoes [syn: shoelace]

That is where I put my good credit to use. Scraping a window with a master card is priceless.

I'm not sure it would work in a montreal ice storm but it works great for morning frost and a little more then that.
