Member Info

Post by esjones »

What is displayed in the forum postings in the gray box to the left? I see my user name, esjones, my Avatar (pic of my Vibe). It says I am a "new member" but others say "member" or Adminstrator. Also, what is the [100%] next to the number of posts I've made? Thanks.

quote:It says I am a "new member" but others say "member" or Adminstrator. It depends of the number of post you did on the forum or your status. If you're not a moderator or an admin, your level will increase with the number of post. quote:Also, what is the [100%] next to the number of posts I've made? This means you have access to 100% of the forum.

I thought 100% was your user rating, meaning a user in good standing.

Yes I think thats what it means, Frosty. Regular users don't have access to the Moderator section of the forum, I don't think. So it can't be that you have access to 100% of the forum.

The user rating is pretty much unused on this forum (turned off). What it is supposed to do is subtract user rating (like a value) if you edit or delete one of your posts, a moderator deletes your post, or an administrator subtracts from your rating for misbehavior and bad language.Overall it is supposed to keep you in-line by hanging a number over your head. You are supposed to keep the number high by being a 'good' member. This would work better in very large forums and can help moderation. We have no use for this at this time here.

The rating "subtractions" are adjustable. If enabled, I would personally only set subtractions to be a result of bad language and misbehavior.
