Cool! PSP for X-mas!

Post by Lancer »

Wife dragged me out shopping the day after thanksgiving and she needed my help picking out the right PSP and games for me for x-mas. Snuck it out for a test drive over the weekend. I don't know why I didn't get this before. It's frikin' cool! Awesome graphics, movies, mp3's, my pics and videos. Way better then any of the gameboy's. Now I hear they're making a camera for it. Too bad it isn't a cell phone.Anyone else have one? What's the coolest thing you have done with it? And where do you find UMD movies for it?{My wife intersepted the UPS guy before me today. Got a new Balisong that I'll steal out of her Vue tonight. }

They are cool! I have had two of them. One I bought a while a go and one I got as a gift from a client a few months ago. Both have since been sold. They do offer excellent graphics. You can find UMD movies at Best Buy and Ebay. I probably would have kept mine if there was an organizer/planner built into it since I didn't use it that much after a while for games. I could have just kept it in my briefcase then. I wouldn't want to have it as a cell phone. It would be too big to lug that thing around all the time. I may get another one sometime if GT4 Mobile ever gets released. That is the one game I really wanted for it. If you really play a lot of game on it I would recommend getting the holder with the handles and the extended built in battery for 10 extra hours of play time. It really helps when playing for long periods of time. Your hands won't get as sore or tired. You can find them on Ebay as well. Congrats on your new toy. The handles look like this:

I got hon that thing for his birthday. He plays the poker games. I tried it, but didn't see what the big deal was.

I had one, didn't really use it. Its a pain to play near sunlight because its glossy and long rides better take the charger because the battery life I believe is a max of 5hrs.

I picked up a PSP a few months ago during a painfully long delay in the Atlanta airport...I'd been drooling over them since they came out, but I discovered something when I finally got mine: the software library is terrible (I should have learned from Sony's other consoles). Sure, there are a lot of games out, but very few that I think are good and worth buying.UMD movies are a great idea, but Sony (and the retailers) want too much for them. For the $15 most places charge (I know prices are coming down), I can buy the DVD, then rip it with any number of tools out there, drop it on a Memory Stick, and go.Great idea from Sony, but Nintendo still holds the title for the best handheld IMHO.Just my $0.02....
