I hereby give anyone here the right to point, laugh, and make fun of me for 1 day, today, Oct 31, 2006. I have been having elec problems for a while now, checked everything I could get my hands on, and finally my car started dying and I missed the GVC SoCen meet b/c I thought my alternator was dead. Well, I finally got my wife to send out my parts this past Saturday to include my OEM alternator so I could change it out. Today I figured since it is due here in a the next couple of days I may as well get the old one out so I would be ready to toss the other old one in. As I was doing it, I disconected the fan, the overflow hose for the radiator, got the fan shroud out, and started to disconnect the wires from the alternator. The first plug I pulled on (bottom right side, no clue what it is) it just pulled right off with no effort. This seemed odd, so I plugged it back in to see if it was latched right, and sure enough, it was a PITA to get back off again! This was the only wire I couldn't get to with all the stuff in my engine bay to check before! So, after slapping myself a few times, I figured, WTH, might as well hook everything back up (wasn't sure if it would start or throw a CEL if I didn't have the fan hooked up) and see what happens. Cole can vouch for this when he came over I tried to start it and my dash display was blinking, the battery light was flashing, and the engine was dying and all that crap. So I got it all back together to see what would happen, and sure enough it started right up, no battery light, bags worked perfect, no battery light, nothing! I took it for a spin around the block a couple of times after letting it warm up for a few seconds and it works perfect! I missed the whole SoCen meet, and had Walter drive 1hr out of his was or more just to get me for the dinner, Cole had to come from his hotel to get the mat from me he wanted, and Zuben drove out of his way to bring me stuff from the meet that I didn't get since I couldn't be there! I FEEL LIKE SUCH AN AXX! Point and laugh away, but better do it quick, offer ends tonight at midnight!

A new entry in the genvibe dictionarydamron (verb) To cause drastic malfunction as a result of incorrect installation of modification. Won't my wife be happy, I think I'll just tell her the old alt she sent fixed the problem and leave it at that!

I think my battery might be farked now since it was depleted like it was. I thought everything was fine until we went to get some food just a few minutes ago and while we were sitting idling in the drive-thru the battery light came on and the interior accessory lights were dimming a little, but once I took it out of drive and pressed the gas a little it went off and the lights went back to normal.

It's Nov 1 here but since damronjr's location says CA and he's in TX, I too can claim a couple time zones difference as well, so it's still Oct. 31 from where I post at the moment. That's what ya get for modding the crap outta that thing man! hehehe! You'd be amazed at how much better things stay if you leave them stock!

I missed out on the free pass, oh well. I'm just glad that it was something simple, although difficult to get to. Just dont damron it for next years meet.

Speaking of jobs, I have a phone interview tomorrow morning, and depending on how that goes could lead to a face-2-face.
