Break Squeek?

Post by Katscan »

Does anyones break make a squeel when used early in the morning? Is this a common thing(breaks being cold and squealing when breaks are applied) for you all in the morning? Or is this something I should take to the dealership to look at?

you'll be wasting your time going to the dealership if you don't think your pads are worn out. It is common with the materials used in pads today to get a squeal every now and then from them. Usually first thing in the morning after they have sat all night or so in the elements and have gotten condensation build up or anything like that on the surface of the rotor or pad. My brakes squeak ever now and then in cold mornings but not to often. Its been a while since I heard a squeak. I usually get one after washing the car and wheels.I'd say normal if the squeak goes away... get it checked out if it doesn't go away.

Mav - i say the same thing 10 times a day... get them looked at but likely there is a still a lot of meat on the bones they just squeak a bit. So maybe a waste of time... of course if you have no brakes left then it's worth the inspection.trying to avoid a simple +1 answer

Well it only happens when I first few times I apply the brakes(cold) so Im guessing its because they are cold. But once Ive been on the road for a lil bit they seem to not squeak.
