columbus day off

Post by KNINE »

Is anybody doing anything good on Columbus day? I went hiking with my dogs this morning. Boy are our 10 feet tired!

Happy Thanksgiving to our neigbors to the north!!My objectives of the day... Took Vibe to the body shop for a hood repaint. Got a Mitsubshi Lancer as a temp rental. Took a book to kinkos to be copied. And now realizing that its a holiday of sorts, trying to remember if Columbus day is a day in which the mail-man will not be visiting my box for the delivery of Bills and/or junk.

And then there are those of us who WORK for a living (as I sit here at my desk perusing genvibe.com) and don't get cheesy holidays like Columbus Day off!

Screw Columbus. I ain't gonna celebrate some guy who "thinks" he discovered a new world before anybody else. Everybody knows the Vikings were here hundreds of years before him and lets not forget about the Native Americans. And oh yeah, Columbus never stepped foot in America.

One bonus of working for the USAF, we get these "holidays" off! Much needed after closing out the fiscal year last week.
