console outlet

Post by lil red wagon »

Ok, just did a quick scan on some of the post, but didn't see anything listed. Has anyone else had a problem with the plug inside their console not working. The cover was broken on mine when i bought the car (used), so I assumed it was something the previous owner did

Just to touch base, you did press the button to turn it on right? I mean the button to activate the plug, not reffering to the device you hooked up to it.

if you are talking about the 12V outlet under the lid in the armrest console between the seats, then the most likely cause would be the PPOINT fuse in the under dash fuse panel. That fuse panel is a pain to check. Also, there is a relay in a junction block above the glove box, maybe the relay is bad or perhaps somebody tried the mod in http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=6403 and messed it up somehow. It could be that the wiring on the outlet is not quite right. Check out http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=13711 for some info on how people can add such an outlet to the 05 and up since it is no longer standard.
